To the rescue si 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray sa kaniyang beauty queen sister na si 2021 Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu sa pagbatikos dito ng ilang pageant fanatics dahil sa tila pagkadagdag ng timbang nito.
In an interview with PUSH, nag-react si Catriona sa ilang negative comments na tila pambabatikos sa reigning Miss Universe dahil sa pagbabago ng kaniyang katawan.
“It's really unfortunate that the public still finds the need to tear a woman down in that way. We're campaigning so hard that beauty queens or Miss Universe should be more than an image,” ani Catriona sa naganap na contract signing ng kaniyang bagong show.
Ayon pa sa 2018 Pinay Miss Universe: “She is not limited by what her body shape is. She is a spokesperson at the end of the day. And I believe she’s effectively doing her role as a Miss Universe and I feel that she should be celebrated.”
Panawagan ni Catriona sa netizens, isipin rin ng body shamers ang posibleng maging impact ng kanilang comments sa mga kabataan na makakabasa ng ‘di magagandang comments sa social media.

“What message do we send to other young girls or other young people in the public or social media when they read those comments and compare their bodies. So let’s not just use derogatory terms... Let’s celebrate women and it’s women’s month pa and we should celebrate women on what they bring to the table,” pahayag ni Cat.
