After seven months of playing the role of the scheming and vengeful Vanessa Narciso on the primetime series La Vida Lena, Agot Isidro said she enjoyed working on the show even if it meant going to work in the middle of a pandemic.

“This was my first lock-in so medyo may kaba. Pero okay naman kasi we were all safe in the end plus masaya yung bonding. Plus natuwa yung mga tao na kahit 10 pm nila napapanuod—it’s kind of late, but then a lot of people were watching it and a lot of people were tagging us in the show and then they’re saying na nag-e-enjoy sila. So yung satisfaction level namin mataas because people are enjoying the show. Parang naging great equalizer yung pandemic. Walang veteran, walang bago, parang lahat kayo nangangapa kasi bagong experience yung workingin a bubble. Tama rin naman na nakatutok ka sa trabaho mo tapos meron kayo 12 hours and you want to make the most out of the 12 hours. More than the work itself, I think ang nabuo talaga is the friendship and the family that was La Vida Lena for that short of a time that you’re working together. Yun ang tumatak sa aming lahat,” she shared during The La Vida Lena finale mediacon.

Agot said that she considers her “tarayan” scenes with fellow veteran actress Janice de Belen as one of themost memorable moments for her on the set.

Grape juice yun eh. So malagkit (laughs).’ Masaya yun.  Kumbaga hindi ka nag-ho-hold back so maganda yung kinalalabasan kasi parang natural eh. Kumbaga hindi ka nagpipigil. Ayun, masaya,” she recalled.

At 55 years old, Agot shared her secret to maintaining her beauty inside and out. “Katulad ng La Vida Lena, dapat ang totoong kagandahan ay nakikita sa puso. Lahat ng pinapasok mo sa loob lumalabas sa anyo mo. So I eat a plant-based diet and I exercise. And good vibes, good thoughts. And for those na may insecurities naman, protect your space, find your people, dapat walk away ka na pag nasasaktan ka na,” she shared.

Known for being vocal about issues that are important to her in and outside of the entertainment industry, the La Vida Lena actress encouraged everyone to let their voices be heard when it matters.

“I think it’s important not just for celebrities but for everyone to voice out their opinions on certain social issues. Siguro na-ha-highlight lang kasi we have a certain influence over viewers, people that know us and see us. importante siya dahil kailangan siguro for equality. Kailangan pinupuna yung mga injustices, mga social issues na medyo taliwas sa mga dapat mangyari. So itama lang natin by voicing out our opinions. Hindi siya negative, we just want to make it right. And it’s not just for celebrities, it’s for everyone. There’s such a thing as freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Kilala ko sarili ko eh so I know which battles to fight or which battles to just let go. Alam ko yung mga ganyan. Alam ko yung pannidigan ko. Alam ko yung values ko. Alam ko if I should take the battle all the way or if I should stop or if I should let it go,” she added.
