Heart Evangelista shared a sneak peek of her Moonlight Arts Collective collaboration with Incubus frontman and artist Brandon Boyd.
The actress and painter shared clips of how their collaboration went about in her latest YouTube vlog.
In the said vlog, Heart and Brandon talked about their process when it comes to art.
"I did really like life drawing though. Sometimes you just sit and I'll do sketchbooks stuff and studies but then to do longer studies I'll photograph her right here and then I get to work from the photograph," Brandon shared in the video.
It was in May 2021 when Heart announced that she will be collaborating with Brandon. The actress traveled to Los Angeles, California in August 2021 for their collaboration.
In an interview with Metro in September 2021, Brandon and Heart talked about the role of art in their lives amid being in show business.
"I was painting [ever] since I can remember since I was a child but when more things got more busy but more chaotic and more successful with our band Incubus, the more and more I wanted to paint, the more I needed that respite from the noisy part of my life, the busy part of my life. As much as I love it, I also need time away from it. And so painting and expressing myself on canvas became really necessary, and I learned to love them both for different reasons," Brandon shared in the interview.
Meanwhile, Heart considers art as her "saving grace" when she was dealing with a difficult time in her life.
"When I was going through this really bad time in my life, [dealing with] anxiety and depression, everything was under construction and I was on reset, and I realized, [art] was my saving grace. I was able to rediscover something that I knew I had but wasn’t able to put much attention to. And when I started to paint openly and not care about what people said, even if they did appreciate my art or not, it was pivotal for me. I just permanently changed. I changed how I look at my work, what’s work and what’s not work, what I can do for myself. I feel that I am at peace," she said.
Moonlight Arts Collective is "a virtual gallery founded for visual artists during the pandemic."
