More than five years after having her gender legally recognized as a female by a court in Los Angeles, California, BB Gandanghari shared an update on her journey of living in the US for the past nine years where she has been working as a bookkeeper and accountant. Earlier this month, BB revealed getting a mammogram, a procedure done to examine the breast for early detection of cancer.
On her Instagram account last February 16, BB wrote, “First time to do this and totally feel like a woman… why? Because only women do this for their yearly physical check up as required by the insurance and medical provider. 👩🏻”
In a succeeding post, BB gave an update to her followers when she was getting the results of her tests and reminded them of the importance of getting tested. “I’m going to get my results soon and I’m praying that I’ll be clear of any indication of early stages of #breastCancer… Mammogram is very important for every woman, especially so when one is on Hormone Replacement Therapy like myself.🙏🌈. Mammography is the process of using low-energy X-rays to examine the human breast for diagnosis and screening. The goal of mammography is the early detection of breast cancer, typically through detection of characteristic masses or microcalcifications.💯👩🏻,” she wrote.
BB, who is also the younger sibling of Rommel and Robin Padilla, was formerly known by her birth name Rustom and who first came out of the closet after joining the celebrity edition of Pinoy Big Brother in 2006 before she opted to voluntarily leave the reality show competition after over a month of staying inside the PBB house. BB also has a YouTube channel where she chronicles her life in the US by vlogging about her travels and everyday life.
