It has been 10 years since Ruffa Gutierrez's marriage to her former husband, Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas, was annulled.

On Thursday, February 24, the actress-host looked back on this important chapter of her life by posting an Instagram video documenting her journey from being a married woman to a happy single mom.

"On this day, ten years ago my annulment was granted. Thank you Facebook memories for making me remember," said Ruffa.

"What a bittersweet journey it has been. I now realize that not everyone is going to stay forever but I still have to keep on going and thank them for the life lessons that made me the woman I am today," she added. "No regrets, just love."

Ruffa and Yilmaz were married in 2003 and parted ways in 2007.

However, it was only in 2012 that their marriage was declared null and void.

The former couple has two daughters -- Lorin Gutierrez, who is a talent of Viva, and Venice.

In a previous interview, Ruffa said she would rather be single than be in a toxic relationship with a man.

Ruffa Gutierrez is truly an inspiring mom

She also said that she does not need a man to complete her.

“I need a man that will grow with me. I need a man that will make me feel happy. And if he doesn’t fulfill that need anymore, okay bye,” she said.

“Ayaw ko nga magpakasal ulit eh kasi ‘di ba, you have to go through an annulment again. Tapos marami akong nakikitang marriages na parang they are just with their partners because for the kids, just to make it work,” she added.

According to Ruffa, her past relationships changed the way she looks at love and marriage.

“Nagbago talaga. I am very different when it comes to my perception of love. A lot of my Bible study-mates are saying, ‘Ruffa, you have to get married again. We really pray for you na you’ll have a family again.’ Guys, I’m okay. You don’t need to pray for me. I’m not lonely. I’m fine the way I am," she said.

After 34 years, Ruffa Gutierrez returns to school

Nevertheless, the actress said she is still open to the possibility of getting married again if the right person comes along.

“If the time comes that my partner will propose or I feel that it’s right and I feel that it will make me happy forever, kahit 70 pwede ako magpakasal. Why not?” she said.
