South Korean heartthrob Park Bo-gum ended his active duty in the Navy on Monday, February 21.
Bo-gum is no longer required to return to his base following an antivirus guideline issued by Navy officials, according to a report by the Korea Herald.
Bo-gum’s service official discharge date from the military will be on April 30. While troops are usually required to be present on the last day of service, COVID-19 restrictions make for an exemption.
He left his Navy unit in Gyeryongdae military headquarters located 160 kilometers south of Seoul. Until his discharge, he will remain as an active serviceman.
It was in August 2020 when Park Bo-gum entered the service.
In South Korea, able-bodied men are required to undergo compulsory service in the military.
Park Bo-gum starred in numerous shows in South Korea including Hello Monster, Reply 1988, Love in the Moonlight, and Record of Youth.
