Ice Seguerra started off the first month of the year on a sad note when his beloved dog Porky passed away due to health reasons. The senior dog, who was 13-years-old and was suffering from an enlarged heart and blockage in her lungs, had been with Ice even before he married his wife Liza Dino.
Last February 11, the singer-actor shared the news that he received an unexpected gift from Sharon Cuneta. In an accompanying note to Ice, Sharon wrote, “My Dearest Ice, I pray this baby boy brings you lots of happiness and love and companionship for many years to come! Remember always that many people love you and want you to be happy always, especially me! God bless you always,
In the post, Ice talked about how he was able to move on after the loss of his pet and shared a photo of himself and his new dog Belly.
He wrote, “When I lost Porky, I never really thought I'd be ready to love another dog again. Kasi parang nabuhos ko na sa kanya lahat and feeling ko nagtataksil ako.
“But that's the thing with love. Love is so beautiful that it never ends with death. And when you open up your heart to love and be loved again, then healing can start doing its magic.
“I received a message from Tita @reallysharoncuneta and I got her beautiful gift this afternoon.
“Thank you so much for you heart and generosity.
“I love you, Tita.”
After seeing Ice’s post on Instagram, the Megastar replied with another loving message.
“Awwww…I love you so much dearest Ice…I have loved you since you were little and I am so happy that I finally have been able to give you a gift - a loving companion who, like I told you, is not meant to take the place of your irreplaceable Porky but to HONOR him. We all love seeing you happy! I am glad you chose Belly among all the pics of beautiful babies! Stay happy and safe my forever baby Ice! I love you! Hugs to Belly and of course the whole family!❤️❤️❤️”
On the same day, Ice shared more happy news when he said one of his followers offered to give him another puppy whom he chose to name Prokchop. The 38-year-old artist immediately created a social media account for his two new furbabies which immediately garnered more than a thousand followers within a few hours. A self-confessed animal lover, Ice also has a pet cat and pig at home.
