After learning that their iWantTFC series La Vida Lena was consistently the most watched program on the streaming platform ever since they started airing episodes, JC de Vera said he enjoyed being part of such a good show.
“Very happy ako sa success na nakuha ng La Vida Lena and very, very happy ako dun sa character na pinortray ko. I really enjoyed every bit of it. Yung bawat eksena ko with such wonderful actors and yung mga veterans na kasama namin dito na-enjoy ko talaga yung bawat eksena na nakasama ko sila. It’s really fun working with everyone. Yun talaga yung kinagandahan ng La Vida Lena na lahat ng characters had their own time to shine and time to portray their characters so much. So lahat kami may ganitong story hindi lang ako,” he shared during The La Vida Lena finale media conference last January 31.
JC shared that he had a lot of memorable scenes in the drama which had him at odds with almost every character at one point in the show.
The second one was a scene with Erich (Gonzales). That was pretty memorable. It was a nice scene but dangerous also for the actors. The third one I would say was yung last scene ko for the show. It was unforgettable and remarkable also at the same time,” he admitted.
Although he played his role convincingly well, JC said he is nothing like his onscreen persona.
“Yung pagkakapareho ko lang kay Adrian is yung faith and loyalty ko sa mga taong mahal ko. So 100% I’ll be very loyal and faithful sa mga taong pagbibigyan ko ng pagmamahal. Kaya maganda yung kinalabasan. And this is my first time to try a offbeat role sa buong career ko kaya I took it as a challenge. In a way magandang experience ito para sa akin. Kaya kesa kabahan ako sa bawat experience ko sa show na ito, in-enjoy ko na lang,” he shared.
While doing lock-in taping for the series, JC said it was not easy being away from his wife and daughter who is turning four years old this April.
“Definitely I can do so much kasi nga nasa bubble ako. But the rest of the co-actors alam nila ‘to, every 10 pm hindi na ako sumasama sa bonding moments namin kasi kailangan ko na mag-video call sa baby ko kasi matutulog na siya. So yun yung naging routine ko nung nag-shu-shoot ako sa La Vida Lena. I just try na maging connected sa kanila. So any time na I want to talk to my family nakakusap ko naman sila and vice versa.
