What can Filipino fans expect from Ji Chang-wook’s ‘Reach You’ fan meeting in Manila?

Korean star Ji Chang-wook is in the Philippines for the first time. The actor will be holding his fan meeting with BENCH called "Reach You" at the Mall of Asia Arena on November 6, Sunday.

In an interview with the Philippine media in Manila on Saturday, November 5, Chang-wook talked about being in the Philippines for the first time. 

"I was very happy because I was able to be welcomed by the fans when I arrived here in the Philippines. And I thought the weather was going to be quite hot but when I arrived here the weather was really nice too so I actually enjoyed my trip coming here to the Philippines," the actor said through a translator.

When asked why he decided to do a fan meeting, he replied, "It has been a while since I communicated with my fans so I decided to have the fan meeting ‘Reach You’ and I decided to reach to my fans since it has been a long time that I could not reach to my fans and fellow people."

What can his Filipino fans expect from his "Reach You" fan meeting in Manila?

"I guess I will be talking about my personal life and also I will also be talking about the dramas and series that I have worked for. And also I think I will be singing some songs in the show so I guess I can have a very fun time with my fans," he said.

Chang-wook also talked about his experience working with the Filipino brand BENCH. 

"Actually BENCH was the first company that I was able to work with in the Philippines and BENCH was very hospitable and accommodating. They treated me like a family where I could work in a very comfortable environment so I guess I was able to work in a chill setting. I enjoyed working with BENCH," he relayed.

On what other things he wants to try in the Philippines, Chang-wook said that he wants to go to this popular island in the country. 

"So for the tourist spots, I would like to travel around the Boracay area, which they say is a very famous tourist spot here in the Philippines. And actually I walked last night in the Greenbelt area, having coffee, and taking a walk," he said.

Chang-wook remarked that he is very grateful to have gained different fan bases in Asia beyond his home country of Korea.

"I am very thankful that though I am only an actor who is only having my acting job in Korea, I'm having different fans all over the world. The fact that I have fans in different countries, I am thankful for that and actually that's what drives me to work harder," he said.

Chang-wook is a Korean actor and singer. He began his career in musical theater. He portrayed his first lead role in a drama series in Smile Again from 2010 to 2011 which catapulted him to fame.

His other television series include Warrior Baek Dong-soo (2011), Empress Ki (2013–2014), Healer (2014–2015), Suspicious Partner (2017), Melting Me Softly (2019), Backstreet Rookie (2020), Lovestruck in the City (2020-2021), and The Sound of Magic (2022), among others.
