Veteran actress Jaclyn Jose turned to Instagram last November 23 to reveal that her phone had been hacked by unknown individuals. She warned her fans not to engage with the messages as she is currently resolving the issue.
The hackers have been asking money from people using the actress’s name.
“My phone has been hacked...please ignore if someone is asking for money. ‘Di po ako yun,” she warned.
In the screenshots that Jaclyn shared, the hackers were asking her close friends for P20,000. The unknown hackers were trying to impersonate the veteran actress and insisted on just talking through chat instead of calls.
“May extra Kaba na pera balik ko lang bukas Ng umaga nagka problema Kasi bank online ko kahit interest ko lang,” the message read.
Netizens showed their concern for the actress’s security as they shared it was obvious that it wasn’t Jaclyn who was asking for money based on how the hackers wrote the messages.
“Ang style kamusta ..those who know me alam nila hindi ako yan..pls wag paloko....ako na sana ang huling naloko ng mga taong ito,” Jaclyn added.
The 58-year-old actress also shared that the culprit might be from the showbiz industry as well as the messages they’ve sent implied that they know some terms that only people in the industry know.
“I think taga industry ito ..alam nia ang zoom (meaning d puede video call kasi nasa zoom,” she hinted.
Netizens asked Jaclyn to change her passwords for the rest of her accounts, especially online banks as it could lead to other scenarios.
“Pls don't click anything. Change your password.. must be a strong one,” a netizen wrote.
