As someone who came from a reality show, Ryan Bang remarked that he is excited to be part of Dream Maker, ABS-CBN's idol show which started airing on November 19.
Ryan is currently one of the hosts of the show alongside Kim Chiu.
"Siyempre sobra ako natuwa kasi dati nangangarap din ako so siyempre malaki mangarap ang mga Pilipino lalo na 'yung kabataan, gusto nila maging global pop star di ba? Lalo na sikat 'yung mga K-Pop ngayon so excited ako kasi alam ko matutupad 'yung dream nila and ito ay isang malaking collaboration ng Korea at Pilipinas," he said in an interview with Star Magic Inside News.
When asked how does he feel working with his fellow Koreans who are mentors on the show, Ryan replied, "Natutuwa ako kasi alam mo kasi may talent pala ako sa salita, kasi ako 'yung tulay pati na 'yung mga staff, pati 'yung mga crew, tapos 'yung mga hosts, mentors, sila Kimmy, 'pag nag-uusap sila, ako nagtra-translate."
He added that he is also elated to be the one bridging the Dream Chasers to the mentors.
"Tapos 'yung mga Dream Chasers, 'yung mga sumasali na kabataan Pilipino, 'pag may tanong sila sa Dream Mentors, ako 'yung tulay nila so alam niyo, ang sarap sa pakiramdam pagkatapos ng show," he stated.
Ryan remarked that what he aspires for his career is to be the bridge between the Philippines and Korea.
"Gusto ko maging tulay ng [mga] Pilipino at Korea kasi matagal na 'yung siyempre 'yung friendship, partnership, more than seventy plus years so ngayon sa wakas for the first time, meron na collaboration. Dati kasi mga Korean shows mapapalabas dito, Korean movies mapapalabas dito di ba? Mga K-drama, pero kumabaga meron mga Filipino movie nagsho-shoot sa Korea, mga Korean movie nagsho-shoot dito pero parang for the first time, collaboration [ng] dalawang bansa, nag-collab sa isang show and puro Filipino ito na artists so super excited ako," he stated.
Ryan also shared his advice for the Dream Chasers who aspire to be part of the global P-Pop group that Dream Maker will produce.
"Gusto ko sabihin sa mga Dream Chasers na sumali, alam ko mahirap kasi nung sumali kami PBB, alam ko mahirap pero ang ganda ng nangyari. Natupad 'yung pangarap namin. Ito 'yung Dream Maker, alam ko 'yung iba hindi madali pero matutupad ang pangarap ninyo," he said.
Ryan continued, "'Yung mga winner po kasi dito sa Dream Maker, dadalhin sila agad sa Korea and doon sila magtre-train and don lalabas sa TV ng nationwide sa Korea so it is a big deal. Maganda ang programa para matupad ang pangarap," he stated.
It was in September when ABS-CBN announced its partnership with South Korea’s MLD Entertainment and KAMP Global to produce Dream Maker.
"It’s a reality competition that will be searching for a new male pop group that will be launched internationally, specifically to debut in Korea," Lauren Dyogi said back in September upon the announcement about the show.
"We’re really serious about getting into the international arena. We’re looking at all ways and means to get the Filipino artist, the Filipino talent to be recognized globally. We’re very happy to have partners who recognize that Filipinos are very talented and that we can compete globally. This is one step. With our two new partners, it will be easier, faster, better for us to get to the global arena in the shortest possible time," he added.
