Jhong Hilario and Ryan Bang bested all other performers of Magpasikat 2022 as they bagged the grand champion award with their performance showing the culture of the Philippines and South Korea.
The duo showcased the relationship between Filipinos and South Koreans during the Korean War wherein the Philippines sent troops for help.
Ryan turned emotional as he accepted the award. It marked the first time the South Korean host won the competition.
The South Korean host admitted that he thought he would not experience winning the competition ever.
Jhong and Ryan revealed that the P500,000 they won will be donated to the Filipino war veterans who helped South Koreans in the Korean War.
Comedian-host Vice Ganda became proud after seeing Ryan win for the first time in the show’s history. The It’s Showtime host shared that it was because of Ryan returning to his roots that got him the much-coveted victory.
Team Vice and Amy, on the other hand, placed second overall while the tandem of Karylle and Ogie Alcasid bagged third place.
