Fil-Am celebrity Bella Poarch has truly embraced her being Pinay.

Though born in the Philippines, Bella migrated to America and has been living there since she was a teen. She took social media by storm and now has over 88 million followers on TikTok and over 13 million followers on Instagram. She is actually related to another US-based Filipino social media influencer, Bretman Rock.

"We met when we were kids. We’re actually cousins, you guys,” Bretman once shared on YouTube. “We met all the way back in Pangasinan where she’s from. She's Ilocano as well."

Despite being in the US, Bella has always been in touch with her Filipino heritage and is often seen hanging out with Filipino celebrities.

It’s no wonder that for Halloween this year, Bella dressed up as the iconic Filipina superhero, Darna.

On her Instagram page, Bella can be seen working the red and gold outfit as she posed by the trees, seemingly on the lookout for a call for help.

The iconic role has been taken on through the years by notable actresses, such as Vilma Santos, Angel Locsin, Marian Rivera, Sharon Cuneta, Regine Velasquez, and Iza Calzado, to name a few. Darna is currently being portrayed by Kapamilya actress Jane de Leon.

Of course, the transformation wouldn’t be complete without Bella shouting the one word that would signify the magical change.

“Darna!” Bella gamely shouted out, with her dog looking on.

"Poopoo is like how many times [is] she going to keep yelling," commented Bretman on Bella’s attempts to get the shout right.

Portraying a woman of power is something right up Bella’s alley. Earlier this year, Bella released "DOLLS (the EP)”, which happens to be a follow-up to her hit song "Build A B*tch” that has a feminist theme.

"Over the past year, I’ve been working on this project which is a reflection of the everyday fight we all live. Each song reflects something different," Bella shared about “Dolls”.

"Power, the need to fight, battling with inner demons, tapping into that main character energy, the sensitive side, and the urge to scream at the top of your lungs," she added.
