Jordan Fall wants to get in touch with his Pinoy roots through his music. The Filipino-Canadian hip-hop artist has been working on his music since the lockdowns began, releasing a number of singles over the course of the pandemic.
One of his latest singles is “Essential”, a very personal song he created based on a short-lived relationship he had during the pandemic. According to Jordan, the song illustrates the shift from desire to obsession, made more intense by the feeling of isolation caused by the lockdown.
“‘Essential’ is a personal time stamp song that is about a fast moving romantic relationship while the world stood still during COVID-19. It’s an expression of a rollercoaster experience — the transition process going from lust to the need of connection in a time of isolation. It’s designed with intent to inspire movement from my listeners. I want them to feel and dance with this grown and sexy musical offering,” the singer explained.

Apart from “Essential”, Jordan is set to release an EP before the end of the year. Iranian-Filipino Kevan Yadzani serves as the EP’s creative director. Yadzani has worked with Justin Bieber, H.E.R., Brandy, and more, keeping Jordan in good company.
