Netizens react to the performance of Vice Ganda and Amy Perez

Amy Perez and unkabogable star Vice Ganda teamed up for this year’s Magpasikat Week on It’s Showtime. The duo paid tribute to the differently-abled people and labor workers who performed alongside them.

The performance of the Vice and Amy trended all over social media for giving attention to those who needed.

One of the highlights of their performance was the moment of silence dedicated to the deaf community. Netizens applauded the effort of the Magpasikat tandem for thinking about the minorities.

“Congratulations to @vicegandako for your brief but meaningful magpasikat which was used to advocate for the greatness of differently-abled Filipinos, particularly the deaf people and laborers whose hands create underrated works of service,” Twitter user @kevincq26 wrote.

Vice and Amy also taught the cast and audience of the noontime variety show some sign language to show appreciation towards the deaf community. Vice explained what pushed them to dedicate their performance to differently-abled people.

“This has got to be the most polished and seamless Magpasikat performance yet. Congrats team Vice Ganda and Tyang Amy Perez,” netizen named @casualvwithatea tweeted.

The 46-year-old comedian-actor shared that initially he didn’t have any ideas for the concept of their performance as he was irritated with the amount of fake news he has been getting.

Vice realized how the clickbait articles and writers of fake news aren’t using their hands for the right purpose.

“Sayang yung mga kamay nung mga taong ‘to. Samantalang ang daming nangangailangan ng kamay, ang daming taong nagtratrabaho na kulang na kulang ang oras nila na kung pwede lang silang humiling sa Diyos na sana ‘pahingi pang dalawang kamay kasi kulang yung dalawang kamay ko para sa pamilya ko,’” he narrated.

Magpasikat is the annual all-out showcase of the ABS-CBN program’s mainstays, who compete for cash prizes to be given to their chosen charity. It’s Showtime is also celebrating its 13th anniversary this year.
