It's now up to the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69 to decide whether or not they will accept actor Vhong Navarro’s bail plea after five hearings.
The actor is currently detained at the National Bureau of Investigation Detention Center in Manila after the Court issued a non-bailable warrant of arrest on him last September 19.
Vhong’s lawyer, Atty. Alma Mallonga, is confident that the entertainer will get through this.
“We did our best. We did everything that was necessary in our belief to show the truth and the truth is that Vhong from our perspective is entitled to bail," Vhong’s lawyer shared.
The 45-year-old comedian was unable to personally attend the hearings and requested to join via video conference. Atty. Alma added that they are trying their best to persuade the Trial Court to their favor through the evidence they submitted.
“We are trying very hard to make sure, based on the evidence and the law, na ma-release sana si Mr. Navarro,” she added.
She also cross-examined Deniece Cornejo who arrived with her lawyer, Atty. Howard Calleja. The model and her camp didn’t entertain any questions from the media.
Last September 19, Vhong was handed an arrest warrant for acts of lasciviousness following a case filed by the model. Atty. Alma assured fans of the entertainer that Vhong has been in good condition.
“Mas na-appreciate niya ang family, mas nakita niya ang pagmamahal ng mga anak niya at asawa niya sa kanya, nanay niya, at fans. Support ng mga kaibigan,” she added.
