After the physical altercation that happened during their match last November 8, the players of College of Saint Benilde filed a physical injury complaint before the San Juan City Prosecutor’s Office against Jose Rizal University's John Amores.

Jimboy Pasturan and Taine Davis personally filed the charges with their head coach Charles Tiu as witness.

Their legal counsel, Aldwin Salumbides, shared that the Blazers aren’t taking things lightly. He shared that what the JRU player did against Jimboy and Taine already makes him criminally liable.

“Hindi lang pananakit ito eh, krimen ito. We were hoping that he would reach out, pero if he’s not doing that, we’re the ones reaching with the long arm of the law,” he added.

Meanwhile, the head coach of the Blazers asked his players to extend their patience and understanding. He noted that they had no choice but to file charges in order to protect his players and others in the future.

“We asked the players to also give their forgiveness and their understanding sa nangyari, which thankfully they do. But despite that, siyempre, we have to be liable to the consequences of what we’ve done,” he shared.

John was given by JRU an indefinite suspension following the resolution given by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). An indefinite suspension would stop him from playing for the remainder of the basketball tournament. He will also be suspended from attending any practices the basketball team will hold.
