Aside from being one of the hosts of the daily noontime variety show It’s Showtime, Kim Chiu adds another feather to her cap as the new host of ABS-CBN’s latest reality talent competition Dream Maker which is also a partnership with South Korean company MLD Entertainment and Kamp Korea. The 32-year-old host shared her first reaction to her latest project during the Dream Maker media conference held last November 9.
“Sobrang iba (ito sa Showtime). Aside from first time ko na ako lang mag-isa yung nakatayo sa gitna. First time ko na mabigyan ng opportunity for the longest time na ako mag-isa ang mag-ho-host para sa Dream Maker and I’m very grateful and I’m very honored to be part of this show. Grabe sobrang malaking bagay ito para sa akin, para sa career ko. Kaya I’m so very happy and thankful.”
Kim admitted that she also felt pressure to show her best hosting skills when they started taping the show.
“Siyempre yung pressure nandudoon. Hindi naman puwedeng mawala yun. Nandun yung kaba. Nandun yung lahat ng mga iniisip ko na ano kaya sasabihin ng ibang tao na mag-ho-host ako ng isang show? Alam mo naman yung ibang tao, nagdududa sila and everything. Pero hindi din naman nila mapapatunayan kung hindi pa nila napapanuod. And kung hindi rin ako nabigyan ng ganitong chance, hindi ko rin malalaman kung saan ako aabot or kung kaya ko ba talaga or ganyan. So thankful din ako sa chance,” she revealed.
In a recent Instagram post, the pretty chinita shared how excited she was for her fans to see her new show. She wrote, “Extremely GRATEFUL to be part of this show! Di ako makapaniwala, ngayon lang nag sink in sa akin. Totoo na pala ‘to. Maraming, maraming salamat po for this opportunity, trust and for choosing me to be a part of this show along side with @ryanbang and our Pinoy Dream Mentors plus Korean Dream Mentors nakaka proud to be part of this big partnership @abscbn with @mld_official and #KampKOREA #fighting”
In preparation for her role as the show’s host, Kim shared that she is excited for all the fashionista wear she will be showcasing on Dream Maker.
“Siyempre dun tayo lalabas sa outfit-an since visuals tayo, magsasalita lang tayo doon. Since K-pop fan din ako, sobrang loding lodi ko yung mga sense of fashion ng mga Koreans. So iba iba (outfit) yung mapapanuod nila every episode. So exciting din para sa akin na mahilig maglaro sa outfits and fashion, ganyan.
