Charlie Puth shared an interesting fact about one of his songs.

"The album is born on the internet,” Charlie Puth said as he described his new album Charlie which was released on Friday, October 7.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News prior to the release of his new record, the singer shared that it was the internet that helped him breathe life into his new record, saying: "I said that because it’s not like I’m looking for critiques and things to use for making the album, but it was almost like performing for people when I was making the album."

Charlie has recently been active on TikTok, creating tracks from the most random things. For the most part, his followers on the platform witnessed his creative process.

One of the songs he created which is part of his new album is the popular track “Left and Right,” on which he collaborated with BTS member Jungkook.

"I knew it would be something, 'cause I put in one of the biggest singers in the world in it. But I didn’t know that it would go the distance like it’s gone so far. Seems to be getting bigger and more familiar every day," he said.

On how he would describe his new album, Charlie said that it's "sad, humor, self-deprecating, not taking yourself too seriously type of music, which I think people will relate to. And just to show that I have real emotions just like anybody else and people will listen to this album and kinda relate to me."

In the same interview, Charlie also talked about his past hit song "We Don't Talk Anymore" which he revealed that he was able to complete when he visited Manila in 2016.

The singer also recalled his fond memories of the Philippines, saying: "[I remember] just how warm everybody is. How community-driven, everybody sticks together.”

He went on: “I remember driving around the city, people sitting in the park, in a circle, the family but even non-family members everybody is there, and that made me happy to see."

Meanwhile, Charlie said he couldn’t wait to return to the Philippines – especially since he has proven how he can be creative during his visit to the country.

"I can’t wait to see them. I know it’s quite some time but I can’t wait to write the next ‘We Don't Talk Anymore’ in the Philippines because I always seem to have some success in creativity based in the Philippines. I think that’s in part because people are so kind."

The album Charlie is composed of 12 tracks including "Light Switch," "That's Hilarious," "Left and Right (ft. Jungkook), and "Tears on My Piano," among others. It is now available on streaming platforms worldwide.
