Henry Cavill announces he is back as Superman: ‘The character means so much to me’

<p>Henry Cavill announced that he is back as Superman. The actor took to social media to make the announcement, much to the excitement of his fans. </p><p>The announcement came following his cameo in the post-credits scene of the new Warner Bros. movie Black Adam.</p><p>"I wanted to wait until the weekend was over before posting this because I wanted to give you all a chance to watch Black Adam. I promise it will be rewarded."</p><p>Fans of Henry were quick to react to his announcement.</p><p>One fan commented, "I just got so emotional! Omg our SUPERMAN! Thank you for keeping hope alive."</p><p>In an interview with Happy Sad Confused podcast following his announcement, Henry expressed his excitement about the future of Superman.</p><p>"The character means so much to me. It’s been five years now. I never gave up hope. It’s amazing to be here now talking about it again. There is such a bright future ahead for the character. I’m so excited to tell a story with an enormously joyful Superman," he said in the interview.</p><p>Henry shared that he was contacted to do the cameo while he was filming his Netflix series The Witcher. It was a very powerful moment for me. I wasn’t sure how I would feel…whether it would be something very emotionally connective because I put the 'Man of Steel' suit back on. I chose that one in particular because of the nostalgia attached to the suit. It was important for me to be standing there and enjoying that moment. That is one of the top moments in my career. We can’t intelligently and strategically build out our DC Universe without the greatest superhero of all time. Because for us, the fans will always come first," he relayed.</p><p>He remarked, "As wild as it sounds, I learned that ‘fans first’ philosophy back when I was wrestling in flea markets for $40 bucks a match well before the bright lights of WWE. <p>Henry Cavill announced that he is back as Superman. The actor took to social media to make the announcement, much to the excitement of his fans. <p>The announcement came following his cameo in the post-credits scene of the new Warner Bros. movie Black Adam.<p>"I wanted to wait until the weekend was over before posting this because I wanted to give you all a chance to watch Black Adam. But now that plenty of you have, I wanted to make it official: I am back as Superman," he said in the video.
