After getting tapped to be one of the hosts of the PIE Channel, TikTok content creator Raco Ruiz shared how he approached his new role as a PIE jock along with his fellow hosts Kid Yambao, Eris Aragoza, and MNL48 member Abby Trinidad.

“With the same aspect as creating TikToks, creating murals, creating art works, you get your favorite things, or yung mga PIE-borito mong bagay and then you make it your own. Actually when I was starting hosting sa PIE, sinabi ko kay direk, ‘Direk, tama ba ako dito?’ I’m always tripping over my words. Sabi niya, ‘Hindi, character mo yun. Just make it your own. Be yourself and that’s going to be your branding.’ Same goes for TikTok, same goes for art. Same goes for creating murals. Get something that you love and just make it your own.”

Aside from hosting on PIE, Raco also shared his other side as a mural artist with his ongoing exhibit called “Ruined.”

“My solo exhibit titled Ruined is open until October 30 sa Chino Roces, sa Makati. Bilhin niyo po yung art works kasi kailangan ko po kumain (laughs),” he shared jokingly.

In preparation to becoming a PIE jock, Raco revealed how he approached the challenge.

“Kailangan maging super open ka sa bagong experiences at sa bagong input. Kasi ako growing up introverted and super sheltered sa Ingliserong community. Tapos through PIE, na-discover ko ang saya pala maging masa, napapa-forda na ako, yung masa na slang nagagamit ko rin. Lalo na sa PIEborito may mga music videos tayo sa playlist, may PIE Extra Slice. So just be open sa mga new possibilities and you’ll have fun,” he explained.
