Bianca Gonzalez has been happily married to retired pro basketball player JC Intal since 2014. They celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary as husband and wife last December. Bianca and JC have been blessed with two daughters, six-year-old Lucia and three-year-old Carmen.
Bianca is thankful that her job allows her the freedom to still be a hands-on mom to her kids.
“I think the beauty sa work ko is hindi ako 9 to 5. Because of that, nadadala ko yung kids ko sa school, hinahatid ko sila,” she shared. “The preparation of baon in the morning. ‘Pag-take ng temperature. Lahat, paghanda ng bag, super hands-on.”
On days that she does have work, her husband takes on kid duties.
“Kapag times na may work ako, buti na lang my husband din hindi 9 to 5, siya naman ang sumusundo sa kids,” she added.
Bianca admitted that she’s the stricter parent.
“Because I guess daddy siya and we have two girls so parang konting hingi lang ng mga anak namin, he would give in,” admitted Bianca. “So, yes ako yung strict pero sobra akong malambing. Very loving, very malambing. Very hands-on and very strict.”
Both Bianca and JC know how quickly their daughters’ childhoods will pass, and both choose to make the most of that time by being hands-on parents.
“I feel that this is the time na ang bilis mawala na maliit sila. So, I try to make the most of this age,” Bianca shared.
While there are times that she has to attend in-person events, a lot of Bianca’s work is still done from home.
“Until now, work-from-home pa rin ang karamihan talaga ng work ko so whenever I need (to) have interviews, whenever I need to make interviews, it’s still at home. Bihira lang yung mga in-person events,” Bianca shared.
Because of this, she is able to juggle her personal and professional life quite well.
“The day is just filled with quality time with them and also work,” she said. “I’m really able to schedule well.”
In fact, even though she is a hands-on parent, Bianca still manages to do her work as the host of ABS-CBN’s CinemaNews, being a content creator, producing videos on YouTube, and even hosting her own podcast channel.
Though she has been asked time and again if she still wanted to act, Bianca finds that she has found her niche as a host.
“Sa almost 19 years ko, lagi akong tinatanong mag-a-act ka pa ba? At this point, parang hindi na talaga,” she admitted. “Mas enjoy kong interview-hin na lang yung mga bida ng pelikula kesa sa ako.”
What she does enjoy is to share stories with the listeners of her podcast, ‘Paano Ba ’To’. What Bianca appreciated about podcasts was its long format.
“It’s a platform for everyone who are interested sa mahabang usapan, which is the nature of the podcast,” Bianca shared. “We are used to short videos, snackable (content) but a podcast kasi mas deep dive siya. You really get to spend time with the one you’re listening to.”
Her podcast actually began as a book, then evolved into a video series.
“I think one thing in common na narinig ko sa local podcasters is they really started because gusto lang mag-chikahan, gustong mag-share ng stories,” she said. “So it was the same with me.
“My topics in my podcast are things that I’m really interested in, things that I really want to learn about,” Bianca added.
