Squid Game actor Oh Yeong-su surprised netizens worldwide with his latest editorial photoshoot for a Korean magazine. The veteran actor broke gender stereotypes as he was seen wearing red stilettos to match his red tracksuit.
Oh Yeong-su displayed the latest collaboration line between fashion brands Balenciaga and Adidas.
“The main character of <Arena> November issue, who digested Balenciaga / Adidas better than anyone else, is the actor [Oh Yeong-Su]. Here's a teaser video of him forgetting his age and posing in front of the camera,” the translated caption of Arena magazine stated.
The 78-year-old Korean actor became known worldwide after he acted in Netflix’s Squid Game wherein he played the role of Oh Il-nam. The role he portrayed also referred to as the Host or Player 001 and he was the main antagonist of the first season of the South Korean Netflix drama.
Netizens were amazed with the photoshoot that the veteran actor did. Aside from wearing the red stilettos, Oh Yeong-su was also shot in the iconic green tracksuit of the Netflix series.
Last July, Oh Yeong-su was one of the actors in the Korean drama that received an Emmy nomination. Although he didn’t win the prestigious award, Squid Game made history after it bagged the Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series.
Squid Game tells the story of a group of people who joined a survival game for a chance to win billions in prize money. The Netflix drama made history as it reached 111 million fans worldwide in a span of 25 days since it premiered on the streaming site.
