“I regret to inform you that we have decided to expel you from the group.”
This was the consensus of the Professional Artist Managers Inc. or PAMI regarding the membership of talent manager and entertainment columnist Lolit Solis, which she voluntarily shared on her Instagram page.
The veteran columnist is one of PAMI’s pioneer members. She has been a talent manager for many years, and has also been active in the showbiz industry for decades. Lolit has recently made public her struggles with her physical and mental health.
This decision was based on her having been found guilty of breaching the PAMI’s confidentiality agreement.
The letter, signed by the organization’s president June Torrejon-Rufino, reiterated that part of the group’s rules was that “everything we discuss during meetings and those posted in our Viber chat group should be treated with confidentiality.”
However, Lolit posted a message sent to the group chat on her personal Instagram account. In the said post, she revealed that a member was resigning from PAMI and was calling out the group’s silence on another member’s bullying.
“… [Y]ou made public via your Instagram a message of Shirley Kuan, which was posted in our Viber chat by the undersigned,” stated Rufino in the letter. “This is a clear breach of the confidentiality agreement of our group.”
Lolit’s expulsion from the organization was effective on the day the letter was sent, October 18, 2022.
Admitting that she was at fault, Lolit accepted PAMI’s decision.
“I admit to my mistake, I bow to June Rufino as president of PAMI, and I hope the organization at ang mga members magtagumpay lahat lalo na ang mga alaga nila na parang anak na kaya inilalaban ng patayan gaya ni Shirley Kuan kay Bea Alonzo,” said Lolit.
She also praised Rufino for standing firm on penalizing members who have violated rules.
“Maganda example na ipakita nila sa lahat na binibigyan nila ng parusa ang mga hindi sumunod sa rules ng PAMI,” said Lolit.
Lolit found some comfort in the fact that the was expelled due to breach of confidentiality and not because of bullying.
“At least, na-expel ako dahil sa ibang rason at hindi dahil sa bully ako,” she said.
