Prior to his mandatory military enlistment, Jin of BTS is set to release his first solo single on October 28. The vocalist of the group also revealed that he co-wrote his song with British rock band, Coldplay
This was announced in the latest teaser of the Korean singer’s single.
The British rock band previously collaborated with BTS for their hit single “My Universe”, which was released last year. It was recently certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America after it sold over one million units.
After the release of his first solo single, Jin will be enlisting as announced by his entertainment agency, BIGHIT Entertainment. The 30-year-old musician will cancel a request to further delay his enlistment in late October.
Last October 17, BIGHIT Entertainment surprised ARMYs from all over the world that the group will enter the military for their mandatory enlistment. They plan to be back as a complete group by 2025.
“BIGHIT MUSIC has focused on the milestone moment when it would be possible to respect the needs of the country and for these healthy young men to serve with their countrymen, and that’s now,” the statement wrote.
Jin’s first solo single album “The Astronaut” will be released on October 28 at 1 PM KST. He is the second member to release a solo album following J-Hope’s Jack in the Box back in July 2022.
