“I filmed something in Thailand,” revealed actress Andrea Brillantes, who had just come back from filming an international project. "I'm proud to be a part of it and I'm so happy to represent our country.”

For now, the project is still confidential and she couldn’t go into much detail about it.

“Hindi ako pwedeng masyadong magsalita about it,” she explained apologetically.

She did, however, give some hints, such as the fact that it’s not like the dramas that she usually does.

“Kakaiba!” shares Andrea. “Iba po siyang genre sa kinalakihan ko na drama. Hindi s'ya drama at all.”

Andrea also revealed that she worked alongside fellow Filipino artists.

“Iba din po 'yung mga kasama ko dito. Actually, mga Pinoy po kami pero magugulat kayo,” she added. “Malalaman niyo soon.”

Andrea started her career at an early age, and hasn’t stopped working since then. In a previous interview, she shared that she was her family’s breadwinner.

"Pagkain, gamit, tax, electricity... Lahat po, lahat sa akin noon,” she said. “Bata pa lang ako, namulat na ako na ang hirap hirap kumita ng pera.”

Contrary to popular opinion, Andrea didn’t grow up with much. They used to live in the slums and lived a simple life.

“May mga times na sobrang hirap, magbebenta ng mga gamit,” she recalled. “Hindi talaga ako laking yaman.”

“Actually, sa squatters area po kami nakatira before,” she said. “May work naman both parents ko dati pero lumaki ako sa grandparents ko. Masaya naman, simple lang kami.”

While she does have happy memories of her humble beginnings, she also admitted that she did have to sacrifice quite a lot, including her education.

“May mga dream school ako, as in gusto ko talagang school na kaya ko naman, pero kapag pumasok ako sa school na iyon, magugutom kami, so isa-sacrifice ko 'yung ganyan," she shared.

Her work has brought food to the table and even allowed her to have a house built for her family. Yet Andrea said that she still has a long way to go to achieve her dreams.

“Malayo pa po. Malayo pa po yung pangarap ko sa estado ko ngayon sa buhay. Marami pa po akong gustong maibigay sa pamilya ko, sa sarili ko. Marami pa po akong gustong patunayan sa lahat ng tao, sa fans ko,” she once said.

Indeed, Andrea is dead set on achieving her goals, such as getting a good education and running her own business.

Aside from her plans to go back to school, Andrea will soon launch A.B.G. Trading Inc, of which she has been named CEO.

“Dream ko talaga ang magka-business for my family,” Andrea said. “This business that I am launching this November has been in development for so long and I am so happy that I can finally share it with you all very soon.”

The nature of the business has yet to be revealed, but she did share that it is her passion project.

"Hindi ko pwedeng sabihin pero it's very close to my heart,” Andrea reveals. “Isa po ito sa passion ko talaga ever since.”
