Laguna-born beauty queen Alexandra Rosales represented the country at the 2022 Miss Supermodel Worldwide beauty pageant which was held at the Leela Palace Hotel in Jaipur, India, last October 15, 2022.
Alex has a degree in Tourism from Malayan Colleges and is currently pursuing graduate studies at the De La Salle College of Saint Benilde. In 2015, she placed second in the Miss Southeast Asia Ambassadress pageant held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and was also part of the Binibining Pilipinas pageant in 2021
On her Instagram account, Alex gave a preview of her final gown on the day of the coronation.
“DUGO,” she called the gown.
Alex went on to explain the layers of symbolism her gown embodied.
“The red gown symbolizes the Filipino blood and spirit. The courage, drive, determination, strength, confidence, bravery, and love that runs through our veins. The blue and yellow sky shows the colors of our flag, which symbolizes peace and truth,” she explained.
“The fireflies of the dusk symbolizes our hope as Filipinos. Amidst the darkness, we glow with steady hope and joy.” she continued. “Tonight, we all hope for one thing, the crown.”
With determination, she promised to represent the country with head held high.
“Ngayong gabi, lalaban tayo,” promised Alex. “Para sa’yo, Pilipinas.”
Truly, Alex bested 16 other candidates and brought home the crown as the 2022 Miss Supermodel Worldwide.
On her heels as first runner up is Kaylee Roxanne Zwart from the Netherlands, while Nova Retalista from Indonesia was second runner up. Sonia Alt Mansour from France was the third runner up, and Alina Cheveleva from Kazakhstan was fourth runner up.
The said pageant also named continental winners. Ethiopia’s Rahel Zemen Gebremedhin brought home the win for Africa, while Ecuador’s Kelly Baez won for the Americas. Thailand’s Wangpor Jitrana Kengkanna won for Asia, and Estonia’s Kelly Kangur won for Europe.
Alex is the first Filipina to win the title.
