Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne announced the postponement of her concert in Manila last Saturday, October 15. This is the second time that she would be moving the date of her show.
She postponed the Asian leg of her tour back in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Avril released a statement on why she chose to delay the concert again. Aside from her Manila show, she also postponed her concerts in Hong Kong, citing problems with scheduling.
“Due to travel and scheduling logistics, I am unable to make these shows happen. I am heartbroken about not being able to make it as I know these shows have been sold out for some time,” she wrote in the statement.
Wilbros Live clarified that while Avril couldn’t make it to the country, the show will push through next year. Fans of the singer expressed their disappointment with the sudden announcement. Avril was supposed to hold her concert on November 3.
“Tour is not cancelled but postponed to 2023. New date for Manila will be announced very soon. Your concert tickets will still be valid on the new date,” they wrote.
Fans who bought tickets to Avril’s concert may opt to get a refund from TicketNet. The production company apologized for the inconvenience caused to fans of the singer.
