Less than a month before she makes her debut at the New York City Marathon, Pia Wurtzbach shared another update on her training in an Instagram post last October 9. Pia and her fiancé Jeremy Jauncey are known for living active lifestyles which involve working out even during their travels around the world.

In her post, Pia revealed all the challenges she encountered during her training for the past few months. She wrote, “TRAINING UPDATE! Finished running 32km last weekend — my longest run so far, and now we’re on the final stretch of training!

“I faced a lot of setbacks the past few months...di ko lang shinare kasi kinabahan ako   I was worried I couldn’t do the marathon anymore cos I got sick twice and previously got Covid. I missed training days and some of those essential long runs so I was really worried. My performance suffered. I couldn’t get the mileage in, and I was slower than before. Mabagal na nga ako bumagal pa lalo. And nobody ever mentioned na mentally maaffect ka rin pala sa ganon. When you miss those long runs or you fail at reaching goals during training, you get so disappointed in yourself to the point of wanting to give up. Durog ang confidence mo, wala ka nang gana.

“But but but…with the right guidance, support and A LOT of determination, I’M BACK. 32km done and my coach @gabbrosario is confident I can finish the 42km.

“So now the goal is to just finish the marathon. No matter how slow or fast it’ll take me. I realized that this isn’t a pageant. I’m not competing against anyone but myself.

Ang daming life lessons noh? Til the next update”

After uploading her post, Pia received messages of support from her friends like Anne Curtis, Yam Concepcion, Charlene Gonzalez and fiancé Jeremy Jauncey who wrote, “Get it baby :).”

READ: Pia Wurtzbach is now engaged to Jeremy Jauncey

It was last month when the actress and beauty queen first revealed that she was training to compete in the New York Marathon happening this November 6. She wrote, “Less than 2 months before @nycmarathon. I’m not gonna lie. I get nervous when I think about Nov 6. Any running advice from marathoners would be really helpful. I mean, what do you even wear?   Do you wear your name on your shirt? A flag? I’m so clueless.  When it comes to my training naman, I have coach @gabbrosario training me everyday. We started early this year and his goal for me is to finish strong. Ayaw namin na maglakad ako. 42kms! Lord kaya ko to.”

Pia announced her engagement to Jeremy last May during their vacation in Amanpulo, Palawan. The couple first went public with their relationship in 2020.
