From being teen housemates in Pinoy Big Brother: Connect to being welcomed as part of Squad Plus last year, actor Kobie Brown said he and Andi Abaya are determined to take showbiz seriously as a tandem.

“We got to build our professional relationship. We have time for us but we also have time for work as well. When we get to the set we know that we have to be serious about what we’re doing. I’ve seen that Andi really wants this. We both want this so bad. We want to be the best versions of ourselves. And that’s what I love about working with her, you can really see na may drive and may goal siya,” he said.

As part of the iQiyi series Saying Goodbye where he plays Seth Fedelin’s best friend, Kobie is grateful for his first acting project.

“Para sa akin, kasi this is my first ever project. I think what I learned is to be more open as an actor, open to new ideas and stuff. At first sobrang kabado ako especially sa workshops. I remember crying sa workshop (laughs) because I wanted to prove to myself I can do this, I deserve to be part of this. I wanted to give my all. Something that I learned is to just always believe in yourself. Don’t let the nerves get ahead of you,” he admitted.

Moving forward in the new year, Kobie said he and Andi already have an understanding to work hard for their love team KoDrea and not compare themselves to other love teams in the industry.

“Sobrang grateful ako na the management really trusts us with these projects. Especially bago kami sa industry. They trust us so much to be part of these projects and all we promise is to keep on working hard in everything we do. I believe support, hard work, and teamwork is the key that’s going to keep us going strong. I know I can trust her to keep working hard and to help me din. I can give her my ideas as well so it’s really the support system that matters the most. I don’t think we try to compare ourselves to anyone. We’re not going up against anyone. All we know is that we want to work hard, we want to try and get as much opportunities as we can but we don’t compare each other to any other love team,” he explained.

As one of the most promising new faces in showbiz, Kobie is hopeful to be able to make a name for himself starting this year. “In terms of my career, it’s going very well at the moment. I’m very happy with the opportunities that I’m getting. Again, I’m still new here sa industry and madami akong natututunan and I can’t wait na sana to get more projects and to discover myself more as an artist,” he added.

Saying Goodbye is now streaming exclusively on iQiyi and www.iQ.com. Starring Andrea Brillantes, Seth Fedelin, Andi Abaya, Kobie Brown, and Nio Tria. Directed by Dolly Dulu.
