Before settling back into his role as Cedric Banes in the primetime series Marry Me, Marry You, Jake Ejercito said he had an enjoyable holiday along with his family. The 31-year-old actor was also able to spend Christmas with his daughter Ellie because his former girlfriend Andi Eigenmann and her family are currently in Manila after typhoon Odette swept through their home in Siargao island last month.

“I think just like everyone else, we had an intimate Christmas and New Year with the family. And I guess yung pagkakaiba rin, I made sure to donate and tumulong sa donation drives sa mga naapektuhan ng typhoon Odette,” he shared during the Marry Me, Marry You Finale Mediacon last January 4.

In the series, Jake plays the best friend of Paulo Avelino who also falls for leading lady Janine Gutierrez. Netizens praised Jake after a memorable acting scene where his character broke down. Jake admitted it was not as difficult to do as he had a lot of help. “Okay naman. Hindi naman naging mahirap kasi supportive naman lahat. I think ang kasama ko dun si Iana (Bernardez). It was very easy and I’m very thankful for the support that we had on the set,” he recalled.

As one of the breakthrough stars last year, Jake said he is proud of the work he did in his first rom-com.

“Five years from now, I’ll be proud of it. Still grateful na ito yung unang teleserye ko. We won’t be able emphasize it enough na naging family talaga kami dito. I think obvious naman sa screen na we were really a tight knit group. We gelled well and yung samahan talaga iba yung energy, iba yung camaraderie. And we always had fun on and off the set,” he shared.
