After being part of numerous indie films since joining showbiz a few years ago, Iana Bernardez said she is still thankful to be given the chance to be part of the Dreamscape teleserye Marry Me Marry You which stars Paulo Avelino and Janine Gutierrez and which ends it run this month.
“Dahil sa project na ito, it really convinced me na I’m really excited for more acting projects to come and hopefully may dumating naman na more acting projects because I really enjoyed the process. I really enjoyed learning so much from my co-actors because everyone has just been so generous sa mga pangaral at pagkain. Lahat we just really enjoyed and I’m going to miss everyone. But it’s going to be a rollercoaster so we can’t wait to finish the ride with you all,” she said during the Marry Me Marry You Finale media conference last January 4.
After her first major role in a series, Iana said it was really an unforgettable experience playing the role of Patricia Francisco onscreen.
“It was exciting. It was very new, ang dami kong natutunan. Ang masasabi ko lang suwerte ko na ito yung production, ito yung cast, ito yung crew na nakasama ko sa first serye ko ever. Tapos ito pa yung role na nabigay sa akin. Na-cha-challenge ako na ito yung first kontrabida role ko ever and it was a whole challenge in itself. Yun yung pinaka exciting kasi hindi ko naman alam kung masusundan yung pagiging kontrabida. Feeling ko nga mas masaya pa siya kaysa sa mabait na role so nag-enjoy talaga ako. So yun yung ichi-cherish ko talaga. And I really fell in love with Patricia,” she said.
As the eldest daughter of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano actress Angel Aquino, Iana said that she always looks up to her mom when it comes to advice about acting and her showbiz career. “Nakakatakot pag mag-fi-feedback siya! (laughs) Pero okay lang, tanggap lang,” she added.
During the Marry Me Marry You Merrily Ever After finale media conference, Iana also shared how she and her family prepared for the New Year.
“Kami dito lang sa house. A few family members lang kasi kanya-kanyang pamilya na nag-se-celebrate ng New Year. Since Christmas kami kami magkakasama lahat. Pero hindi na effective sa akin ang pagtalon. So hindi na ako nag-abala tumalon kasi hindi na siya effective for 20 years (laughs). Tapos 13 round fruits naman ang meron dito sa house. Nakinuod lang din kami ng fireworks para tipid sa fireworks. We just drank hot chocolate. Ganun yung New Year, intimate lang,” she recalled.
