After more than three decades since his debut film named after his hit song “Humanap Ka Ng Panget” in 1990, rapper and comedian Andrew E said he is thankful for being able to continue doing comedy until now.

“It is for me an appreciation. That statement is a very nice appreciation of what we have done and what we have portrayed as a decades long comedian. And at the same time natutuwa ako on my part to be with them. And I can speak for them na sa tagal ng panahon maaaring ina-appreciate namin yung movies pero mas lalo naming ina-appreciate yung mga taong nanunuod ng movies. So yun yung pinakaginto para sa amin. With that lalo kaming nagpupursigi at nagsusumikap para to the next coming years ay hindi lang nila ma-appreciate kami pero mapamahal para mas ma-appreciate kami ng mga baguhan o mga bagong generation to come,” he explained.

With his onscreen tandem with Sanggano, Sanggago’t Sanggwapo co-stars Janno Gibbs and Dennis Padilla now being likened to iconic comedic trio Tito, Vic, and Joey, Andrew shared why people see the comparison.

“Tatlong bagay. Yung camaraderie, and friendship and longevity. Yun yung meron sa aming samahan ay na-embed sa amin and at the same time parang naka-sinturon na sa amin yung tatlong yun. Yung camaraderie ay hindi maiiwasan kasi mag-kumpare kaming tatlo. And at the same time yung friendship lumilitaw yun sa screen kasi kitang kita niyo yung pagkakaibigan namin na hindi lang makikita sa mga dialogue namin kundi pati sa sa mga actions at galaw. Kitang kita dun yung friendship namin. And at the same time siguro bitbit namin yung longevity and yun ang nagtatawid sa amin from way back 1990s hanggang ngayon 2021 up to the next year. Maybe yun yung meron kami na very special,” he shared.

In his latest Vivamax comedy, Andrew said he also enjoyed working with their younger co-stars because he learned a lot important things from them.

“Ang pinakamasaya dun na parte is mas nadadamihan at nadadagdagan yung nakikita ko at na-o-obserbahan ko towards understanding the young ones of today. Para nagagamit ko yun, nadadagdag ko yun sa craft ko and at the same time nadadagdag ko yun sa aking kaalaman on how to entertain them. So I know how the young ones can appreciate me. I’m not in their time frame which is yung edad and yung hilig. So mas na-a-analyze ko sila better and to the betterment of my career also and craft. Yun ang aking appreciation,” he said.

For those who have yet to watch the sequel to their film, Andrew shared what lessons viewers can get from Sanggano, Sanggago’t Sanggwapo 2: Aussie! Aussie! O Sige!

“I think merong isang very great lesson na matututunan sa aming pelikula. And it goes a little something like this, ang lesson na matututunan dito would be ang mga kabataan matututong magbigay or makahanap ng paraan para mapasaya ang kanilang mga magulang, ang kanilang mga lolo’t lola sa pamamagitan ng pagtulay sa amin sa pelikula namin through Vivamax,” he added.
