Former Miss World Megan Young took to social media to mark the birthday of her husband, actor Mikael Daez, as well as their 11th anniversary as a couple.
On her Instagram page on Thursday, January 6, Megan shared a set of snaps showing her favorite moments with Mikael.
"I didn’t forget this time at the strike of midnight. I greeted Fofo a happy birthday and we greeted each other a happy anniversary. And just like that we went back to our games hahaha," the actress wrote.
"Our fam and friends know that we don’t really have big celebrations and like usual, we had some errands, enjoyed the food gifts we received and watched a movie. 11 years with this man I now call my husband. Sharing some photos from my favorite trips and my fave photos of @mikaeldaez."
She then used the hashtags #kiligyarn, #loveyoupo, and #keso.
After dating for eight years, Megan, 31, and Mikael, 34, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Caleruega Church in Nasugbu, Batangas in January 2020.
They then married for a second time in a bigger ceremony attended by their family and friends in Subic Bay just weeks later.
Last July, the celebrity pair said that they are not in a rush to start their own family.
According to Megan, aside from wanting to enjoy married life first, she and Mikael are focused on pursuing their dreams at the moment.
"For me, a major decision in our relationship, and one that we made together as a married couple, is to not have kids right away. We were very stern about that from the very beginning na hindi muna tayo magkakaanak," said Megan.
"Kasi one, we wanted to enjoy the married life as a couple. But we also had work opportunities, and we wanted to make the most out of it. We wanted to make the most out of us just being together as a couple. Na wala pa tayong ibang responsibility kundi ang isa't isa, kundi si Soba lang (their dog). That's how we wanted to enjoy the first couple years of our marriage," she added.
Mikael, for his part, said that witnessing their loved ones deal with the demands of parenthood has helped him and Megan arrive at their decision.
"Shout out to all the relatives and friends who have had babies because to be honest with you, that helped us make the decision," he said. "We saw what kind of changes their lifestyle went through. Of course, we saw the love that they gave to the baby, but we were able to use them and their stories as, I guess, input to be able to come to the best decision for ourselves.
"And so far, there are no regrets, and I don't want us to ever have any regrets when it comes to this decision. Because eventually the time will come when we want to grow our family."
