Former Miss Universe Catriona Gray opted for a quiet birthday celebration as she turned 28 on Thursday, January 6.
In her post on Instagram, the beauty queen-singer shared how she marked her special day as she thanked all those who showed her love.
"Thank you to everyone for the birthday love. It was a quiet little celebration due to the situation here in Philippines, but all the messages and love made my day extra special," she said.
"Here's to 28!"
Her post showed a Polaroid snap of herself with her longtime boyfriend, actor Sam Milby.
It was in May 2020 when Catriona and Sam confirmed that they were in a relationship. The two were first rumored to be a couple in December 2018.
In an interview for Mega Magazine last October 2021, Sam said he is hoping that Catriona is the person he will marry in the near future.
“I wouldn’t be with Cat if I don’t think she’s the one. At my age also, why would I be wanting to stay and stick around if I don’t feel that we have a future? I’m really looking for my life partner obviously, and I really hope that she is,” he said.
“I mean, we have a lot that we’re working on and we’re both growing in our walk with God. That’s one thing that’s very important to the both of us — it's keeping God in the center of our individual lives and our relationship,” he added.
Nevertheless, Sam said he doesn't want to rush Catriona nor himself into settling down.
“If you would’ve asked me this question when I was in my early 20s, I would’ve said, ‘Oh, my ideal age to start a family is 35.' But now that I’m 37, I’m at a point in my life where I don’t want to put a time frame on myself,” he said.

Catriona, 28, rose to fame after winning the Miss Universe pageant in 2018, making her the fourth Filipina to bring home the coveted crown.
She has since dabbled in music. Last November 2021, she released her latest single, "Love Language", which also marked her first foray into songwriting.
