The start of the year is turning out to be a challenging one for singer and actor Ice Seguerra who had to say goodbye to his beloved pet Porky who passed away on January 26. Earlier this week, Ice’s wife Liza Dino-Seguerra first posted a call for prayers for the furbaby who was suffering from an enlarged heart and blockage in her lungs.
In his latest post, the talented artist gave an emotional tribute to his beloved pet of more than a decade and admitted it as been a hard process for him to say goodbye to his faithful furbaby. Mahilig kang matulog, kumain, tumambay. Manang-mana ka talaga sa akin.
“You are the epitome of unconditional love. Pagmamahal na walang kapalit, walang expectations, walang hangganan.
“You have blessed my life with so much happiness. Thank you for being my confidant, my best friend, my constant companion, my kiss-giver, my baby love.
“Your presence gave me so much peace. And so much love.
“Thank you for being you, for being my one and only Porky.
“Pahinga ka na, baby ko. No goodbyes.
“I love you so much.”
In another post, Ice admitted how painful the loss is for him because he felt like he lost his own child. “My heart is in so much pain but alam kong ayaw mong malungkot ako. So I will try my best to be okay. But it's so hard to live in a world without your kisses, your presence, your love. You were not just a pet, you were my daughter. Thank you for loving me selflessly.
“I love you forever, my baby girl, my Baboy, my one and only Porky.
“The 13 years I've spent with you were the best years of my life.
“Mahal na mahal na mahal kita, Porky ko, at sobrang mamimiss kita.”
In an earlier post, Ice shared the story behind his close relationship with his oldest pet pug. He wrote, “As a dog's human, we all know that they have a shorter life span compared to us. But knowing and accepting are two different things.
“I first met Porky in 2008. I've always wanted to have a pug. Iba kasi sila eh. Yung lambing nila, kakaiba. Nung nasa pet store ako, may dalawa akong pinagpipilian nun.
“One of my greatest fears is losing her. Now, it's staring at me right in the face.
“Hindi ko alam kung anong mangyayari bukas, hell, I don't even know what will happen tonight. Pero ang importante kasama niya kami. Nandito siya sa tabi ko. Alam niyang hindi siya mag-isa at nararamdaman niyang mahal na mahal namin siya.
“Please continue to pray for our baby, Porky. That she can still pull thru. And pray for us, especially me. That I may be able to accept what tomorrow brings.”
Liza also dedicated a post to Porky on her own account, thanking her for all the years of love and loyalty to their family. She wrote, “Thank you for giving us more time to show you how much we love you. We knew you're already weak pero nagpakitang gilas ka pa rin to assure us that you're gonna be ok.
“Thank you for protecting your daddy @iceseguerra during those years that I was not there yet. You were already 4 years old when I first met you, yet you still loved me unconditionally. I will miss your kisses, your laway, your sipon, and sige na nga, even your funky smell esp pag init na init ka.
“Thank you for that beautiful smile you gave me last night. This is the memory I will keep with me forever.
“I wanna say ‘run free’ pero di ikaw yun kasi, kain-tulog lang ang hobby mo.
“Love you, Porky. We miss you already.”
Ice Seguerra married Liza Dino in 2014. They will celebrate their ninth anniversary this coming March.
