With everyone excited to see her newest series The Broken Marriage Vow which premieres on January 24, Jodi Sta. Maria said her latest character is a far cry from other iconic roles she has been known for in the past like Maya in Be Careful With My Heart and Amor Powers in Pangako Sa ‘Yo.

“Sobrang iba. Sabi ko nga minsan she would always speak in riddles. So ang daming puwedeng gawin, ang dami mong puwedeng laruin,” she shared.

In the series, Jodi is Dr. Jill Ilustre, a loving wife to her husband David (Zanjoe Marudo) and a caring mother to their only son Gio (Zaijian Jaranilla). Their life is ideal until she discovers her husband’s affair with a younger woman.

“What happened to Jill is she has this picture perfect life. And she was able to do things out of that obsession.

You are suddenly hijacked by your emotions and when you are emotional about something you cannot think logically.  Siguro out of yung hurt niya and pain niya, nakagawa siya ng mga bagay na hindi mo iisipin na gagawin ng isang doktor na katulad niya,” she explained.

If there was an important lesson Jodi can share with women after doing the series, she said it is to always try and make well thought-out decisions.

“Siguro to be fair, isang bagay na natutunan ko hindi lang sa character ko kundi sa serye na ginawa namin, is that our lives are moving in the direction of our decisions. So whether babae ka or lalake ka, kung ano yung mga decisions na ginagawa mo sa buhay mo, may direct effect yan sa ‘yo, sa asawa mo, sa pamilya mo and it can even go as far as your friends and the people around you. We have to be wise in making choices and decisions sa life natin. And siguro isang natutunan ko kay doktora Jill is that there is always life after a heartbreak,” she said.
