Actress Dimples Romana is teaching her daughter Callie Ahmee how to be independent.
On Tuesday, the Viral Scandal star proudly shared that she has given Callie her first personal space, so as to help her prepare before she leaves for Australia to attend school.
"Ate gets the keys to her very FIRST personal space, her own little home that she’s going to live in for a few months to practice - sleeping alone, cooking on her own, looking out for herself, cleaning up, etc before she actually leaves to live and study there. Yes, we are kicking her out! Joke," said Dimples.
In her post, the actress explained why it took a long time before she and her husband, Boyet Ahmee, decided to have another child after Callie.
"It’s no secret that @papaboyetonline and I married young and had Ate Callie young too. But many wonder WHY we waited 12 long years to decide to have another child (si Alonzo), and the main reason for that ay NAG-IPON muna kami. We wanted to give Callie a life that was not extravagant, just simple but had everything she needs and maybe here and there a family trip to a place we’ve all never been to, a nice adventure, a hobby and then some," she said.
Dimples said it was only after they felt ready to give Callie the "ultimate gift" as parents — that is, the freedom to choose her own path in life — that she and her husband decided to have their son Alonzo.
"And what a joyous blessing for dad @boyetahmee and I to be able to give you this moment, Ate, a moment that you can already put into application every virtue and moral value we have taught you since you were a kid, every dream and hope we have encouraged in your heart in the hopes that YOU, YOURSELF will find exactly what it is that will make your heart skip lots of beats, and be at your HAPPIEST," Dimples continued.
As much as she would want for her daughter to stay and pick something closer to home, Dimples said it is only Callie who can decide for herself which path she wishes to take.
"Only you can account for your happiness," the actress told her daughter. "So if that means we’ll have to wait here, patiently and eagerly, be away from you so you can GROW and LIVE FREELY and know how the outside world feels like, discover what beauty and kindness you can offer it, like what we said, WE’LL BE RIGHT HERE WHERE YOU WILL LEAVE US."
Callie, who turned 18 just last December, is pursuing her lifelong dream to be a pilot. She is currently enrolled in the aviation program of the Southern Cross University in Australia — her dream school — but is doing her classes online presumably due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last October, Dimples also dedicated a touching post for her daughter as she marked Callie's first day in college. Read more about it here Dimples Romana’s daughter Callie Ahmee pursues dream to become a pilot
