Actor and model Troy Montero is now in self-isolation after he tested positive for COVID-19.
In an Instagram post, Troy said he underwent both antigen and RT-PCR tests to confirm his diagnosis.
"After a positive Antigen test, I went straight to the garage to set up my little recovery camp while scheduling a RT-PCR test [via] home service," he said. "This was always our plan, if one of us caught the virus."
Among his symptoms, he said, were cold, dry cough, fever, body ache, and a "splitting headache."
"Besides the headache, the body ache for me is the worst feeling. It’s like sitting down but you can never get comfortable. You’re always shifting and moving every few seconds. It’s that painful," he said.
Troy said he is now on day four of his isolation and is feeling much better.
"Symptoms are now quite mild on Day 4," he said. "I will continue my isolation until all COVID symptoms have passed. Then I’ll test again both RT-PCR and Antigen."
The actor added that has been fully vaccinated since July last year and was scheduled to have his booster shot this month.
"Praying for the safety of my family as I watch them from a distance," he said. "Stay safe out there, get vaccinated and please take care. More updates to come in the next few days."
Troy is the partner of actress and fitness trainer Aubrey Miles. In her own Instagram update, Aubrey said she tested negative for COVID-19, but will nonetheless isolate at home together with their three children.
Troy, 50, is the latest celebrity to announce that they have been infected with the virus, amid a fresh surge of COVID-19 cases in the country.
Currently, there are a total of 290,938 active cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines, 37,070 of which were recorded just this Monday, January 17.
