In his new series The Broken Marriage Vow, Zaijian Jaranilla plays the role of Gio Ilustre, the only child of Zanjoe Marudo and Jodi Sta. Maria. While shooting the family drama, Zaijian admitted he did not have to dig deep to relate to his new character who becomes torn after his dad starts having an affair.

Mas na-e-express ko yung gustong sabihin ni Gio,” he said.

After an almost two-month lock-in taping in Baguio City, Zaijian shared what he learned from portraying the character.

At saka sundin nila yung puso nila,” he explained.

If he could be given the chance to give advice to his onscreen character, Zaijian said he would make sure to not make Gio feel all alone.

In real life, Zaijian said he also went through an awkward phase as an actor when he was transitioning from being a child star to an adult.

Yung mga ganun,” he revealed.
