In the upcoming new series The Broken Marriage Vow, Zanjoe Marudo plays the role of David Ilustre, an architect who seems to be the perfect husband to Jill (Jodi Sta. Maria) and father to their only son Gio (Zaijian Jaranilla) until he starts a romance with yoga teacher Lexy (Sue Ramirez). Zanjoe admitted that he had to do a deep dive to really understand where his character is coming from.

With the storyline originally based on the BBC series Dr. Foster, Zanjoe said he did not base his character on the British or Korean versions.

After working on the series whose main focus is on marital infidelity, Zanjoe admitted he has come to the conclusion that it is possible for someone to fall in love with two people at the same time.

“After ng itong show na ‘to parang posible. So nasa tao talaga.

Despite having a deeper understanding of his character’s intentions, Zanjoe said it does not mean his is more forgiving of cheaters now.
