After starring in the teleserye Ang sa Iyo ay Akin last year, Jodi Sta. Maria said she never expected to be offered another major role so soon in The Broken Marriage Vow.

Siyempre talagang nagulat ako na in-offer siya,” she shared during her solo media conference for The Broken Marriage Vow last January 14.

Jodi admitted that she and the rest of the cast did feel pressured during the start of production which lasted almost two months in their lock-in taping in Baguio City.

“While we were taping naman sa Baguio, I think nandudun na lahat ng pressure, ng kaba, because we have to live up to the expectations of those people na nakapanuod na ng mga naunang adaptations.

I would always say that when you see this series, hindi lang siya artista na gumanap. So dun ako excited. Kasi effort ng lahat ito,” she explained.

Through her latest role as Dr. Jill Ilustre, Jodi said she is able to fulfill one of her dreams which is to be a doctor even if it’s just onscreen.

“I’m actually grateful na hindi man ako doktora sa totoong buhay, pero kahit papaano naisabuhay ko yung isang pangarap na meron ako. So thank you,” she said.

The 39-year-old actress also talked about what she and her character have in common.

“If there’s one thing na similar kami ni doktora Jill is that when we are put in a situation kung saan medyo difficult, we try as much as possible to stay calm and collected. And maging logical as much as possible. Siguro Jill and Jodi are the same sa pagiging passionate sa mga bagay na gusto nila sa buhay or sa mga bagay na pinahahalagahan nila. Siguro we are similar in that way,” she added.
