Looking back on when he was first offered the role of David Ilustre in The Broken Marriage Vow, actor Zanjoe Marudo admitted the project came at just the right time in his life.

“Yun yung mga time na medyo down ako kasi yun yung time na medyo wala masyadong trabaho tapos nagsara pa yung ABS-CBN tapos pandemic. And then nakatanggap ako ng tawag na meron silang gagawing show. Nasa right timing pag inaantay mo talaga yung magagandang bagay,” he shared during his solo media conference for the series last January 11.

The 39-year-old actor, who is also celebrating his 16th year in showbiz this year, said he did not hesitate to accept the role right away.

In the series, Zanjoe plays the role of David Ilustre, an architect who starts off the story being the perfect husband to Jill (Jodi Sta. Maria) and father to their only son Gio (Zaijian Jaranilla).

Si Jill Ilustre talaga ang love of his life.

Ever since he joined showbiz after joining the first season of Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition in 2006, Zanjoe said he never imagined making it this far in the industry.

Maria, Zaijian Jaranilla, Sue Ramirez, Jane Oineza, Angeli Bayani, Bianca Manalo, Ketchup Eusebio, Rachel Alejandro, Art Acuña, Empress Schuck, Joem Bascon, Brent Manalo, Malou Crisologo, Franco Laurel, Sandino Martin, Lao Rodriguez, Jet Gaitan, Jie-Ann Armero, Migs Almendras, Avery Clyde, and JB Agustin, with the special participation of Susan Africa and Ronnie Lazaro.
