TV Patrol's Star Patrol anchor Gretchen Fullido opened up about her experience after she tested positive for COVID-19.
"Last January 3, I tested positive for COVID-19 (both RT-PCR & Antigen). I immediately went into isolation & prepared all the essential supplements and medicines that I need to take to strengthen my immune system for the days ahead," she posted on Instagram.
Gretchen detailed the symptoms she experienced from day one until she finally tested negative on day seven.
"Sharing what happened:
Sore & itchy throat
Colds - Runny nose
Joint pain & fatigue
(I started drinking my supplements & meds right away when I tested [+] & when the symptoms showed up on day 1)
No more headache
Cough & colds lessened
But my voice was hoarse
BRAIN FOG 🤯😅
Taste & smell became faint
(So, I just took it easy & just kept resting)
Almost all symptoms subsided
Very minimal cough
Taste & smell still faint
*** I experienced shortness of breath
(it was a little hard to talk on the phone & I was catching my breath but my Oximeter said my O2 levels were good) Overall, it was very manageable.
I even watered my plants & did light household chores 🙂
Feeling much better than Day 5 🥰
Day 7 (Today)
Feeling ok 🙂👍🏼
My antigen test came out negative too. (But I will still stay in isolation for the next few days)."
She highlighted that the key to her recovery was "rest… rest & rest. Eat healthy & hydrate."
She also added that even though she no longer tested positive for COVID-19, she will still complete the 10-day isolation and quarantine protocol of the Department of Health.
"Make sure to get your doctor’s clearance if you can be released and to know if you are fit to work," she added.
Gretchen also highlighted how being vaccinated helped in her recovery.
"I am so thankful that I am fully vaccinated and that I was able to get a booster shot too ☺️💉 VACCINES REALLY SAVE LIVES 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Please get vaccinated & get a booster shot as soon as you can so we can protect ourselves & others," she said.
"Let’s be responsible and compassionate to one another 💕 Praying for healing & for everyone’s health and safety," she added.
