After starring the Metro Manila Film Festival entry The Boy Foretold By The Stars last year as well as the iWantTFC digital series Love Beneath the Stars, actor Keann Johnson finally makes his teleserye debut in Marry Me, Marry You this month where he plays Xavier Legaspi, half-brother of Paulo Avelino in the series.
“Nakaka-overwhelm being that this is my very first teleserye and I’m very thankful to the directors for really accepting me. And honestly I’m so glad that I got to work with such an amazing cast. Maraming maraming salamat. This is my very first teleserye and I learned so much,” he said during the Marry Me, Marry You grand mediacon.
While working with veteran actors like Edu Manzano and Teresa Loyzaga who play his parents in the show, Keann said he is grateful for all the lessons he learned on the set.
“I’m thankful to this wonderful cast for teaching me so much. Among all of it actually one thing I manifested was to always have fun. When you’re working you should always be professional, you should always be on time, memorize your lines as an actor, it’s your duty and all that. All of that should be second nature to you.
“Pero para sa akin, with all of that, what’s really important is to have fun. Because as an actor, doing this is not a job, this is your career and this is something you’re doing not because you’re obligated to do it, it’s because you want to do it and you love what you’re doing and your passionate about it. And I see that in everyone’s eyes up until now and I really love that type of energy and I feel like nama-manifest ko din yung ganun na energy so thank you to all of you,” he shared.
After finishing two lock-in cycles for the show, Keann revealed his favorites moments with his co-stars on Marry Me, Marry You.
“Pinaka most memorable to me is working with sir Edu (Manzano) and Ms. Teresa (Loyzaga) because Ms. Teresa has given me so much wisdom up to the point that until now I still remember and I’ll cherish it for the rest of my life. With sir Edu I’m so jealous of him because sobrang charismatic niya to the point na if I’m ever going to rob something, I’m going to rob sir Edu of his charisma. That’s the top two memorable moments of this shoot so far,” he added.
