Alex Gonzaga gave a 12-year-old kid the chance to live a better life through a new tricycle giveaway.

The idea of a giveaway started during a vlog Alex shot with Department of Transporation (DOTr) secretary Arthur ‘Art’ Tugade released last July 25.

In the said vlog, Alex brought up the idea of giving away prizes to netizens — something the government official readily agreed on.

Netizens had to answer a simple question: “Anong paborito niyong parte ng projects ng DOTR?”

From there, the DOTr secretary would choose a winner. Vincent Sotalbo, a student from Rizal Standard Academy who graduated as valedictorian received a tricycle as his prize.

The DOTr secretary, in a Facebook post last July 30, said Vincent wrote about how happy he is to see how public transport is cleaner now compared to before.

It appears Vincent got the prize just in time as the tricycle his father uses for work recently broke down.

Vincent added that his father does not have money to have it fixed due to budget constraints.

Vicent Sotalbo — who finished grade 6 recently — is a consistent scholar, according to Art Tugade.
