Rico Blanco is the voice the latest version of the theme song for the hit reality show Pinoy Big Brother.
The Original Pinoy Music (OPM) icon noticeably incorporated traditional Filipino music elements in the melody of the track.
While some words were added and removed in the latest version of the track, the message of the song remained the same: being true to one’s self.
Released under Star Music, Rico recorded the new song in anticipation of the tenth season of the show titled PBB Kumunity Season 10.
Rico joined forces with award-winning composer Jonathan Manalo and Orange and Lemons member Clem Castro in writing the song. Rico also served as the producer of the song.
The reimagined version of “Pinoy Ako” is part of Jonathan Manalo’s 20-year celebration in the music industry.
Meanwhile, the original version of the song of the same title became is the most popular theme song in the history of “inoy Big Brother.

The upcoming season of Pinoy Big Brother will be divided into three editions: celebrity, adult, and teen.
Auditions for the aspiring adult housemates (ages 20-40 years old) started last September 1 and will end on September 30. Meanwhile, the auditions for the aspiring teen housemates (15-19) will begin on December 1 and will close on December 31.
The first-ever edition of Pinoy Big Brother first aired in 2005.
