In the newest Kapamilya series Marry Me, Marry You, Janine Gutierrez plays the lead role of Camille who was brought up by her three godmothers and their respective families when she was still a little girl.
“Yung mommy ko namatay nung bata pa lang ako kaya masuwerte ako na nakahanap ako ng pamilya sa mga kaibigan,” she shared.
Janine is paired with new leading man Paulo Avelino who plays a rich CEO of a tech company in the series.
After transferring to ABS-CBN last January, Janine said she has been nothing but happy about her decision since she started working as an official kapamilya.
“I’m so happy to be here and to be doing this and naramdaman ko yung alaga ng Dreamscape from the start because tinanong kung anong gusto ko, kung anong hindi ko pa nagagawa, kung gusto ko ba ng light or gusto ko ba ng drama.
“And sobrang na-appreciate ko na nag-ma-matter kung ano ang gusto ko and kung ano yung gusto ko pang matutunan. And gusto ko makatrabaho itong napakagaling na cast and mga director so I feel so lucky talaga to be doing this show with Dreamscape and ABS-CBN and I’m so excited na excited din kayo,” she said during the Marry Me, Marry You mediacon last September 2.
After their first taping for the series, Janine said she has learned a lot in terms of lessons when it comes to people you consider as true family.
“That the family you choose sometimes can be as strong or stronger than yung kapamilya mong kadugo. Kasi minsan naman sa buhay iba iba tayo ng mga sitwasyon sa pamilya natin pero nabibigyan tayo ng pamilya na napipili natin, whether it be kaibigan or ninang or barkada ng nanay mo. And na-experience ko din sa personal kong buhay na yung mga kabarkada din ng nanay ko inalagaan kami, pinalaki kami at times so I think madaming makaka-relate sa ganung sitwasyon. And hindi lang naman yung traditional sense ng pamilya ang tunay na makakapagbigay sayo ng pagmamahal,” she explained.
When it comes to lessons about marriage, Janine said she relates to her role in terms of how much she also values her family’s approval when it comes to her choosing a partner.
“Ako bilang babae isa sa mga pinaka na-appreciate ko is kapag nililigawan din yung pamilya ko and especially yung nanay ko, yung makuha mo yung approval ng nanay ko. And si Camille tatlo pa yun nanay so yun yung alam ko na totoo din sa totoong buhay. Kailangan talaga mahalin din yung pamilya,” she added.
Marry Me, Marry You begins airing on September 13, Monday.
