Bb. Pilipinas International Hannah Arnold took to social media to share her thoughts on the cancellation of the Miss International pageant.
"I have to admit that yesterday I was upset and in shock with the news of the 2021 edition of Miss International being cancelled . However waking up today and discussing it with my loved ones, BPCI and my MI sisters from all around the world, we realized it’s in the best interest of the org. to keep us safe at this time," she posted on Instagram.
Hannah remarked that she would use this time to focus more on her work here in the Philippines.
"I will definitely use this reign to grow more, focus on my advocacy work and most importantly pursue the goal of 'cheering all women,'" she said.
The beauty queen added, "Let’s remind ourselves that a new month means a new beginning, a new mindset and a new result."
Akemi Shimomura, the chairperson of the International Cultural Association, announced the said cancellation of the pageant due to the ongoing global pandemic.
“We would like to express our deepest regret especially to the participants from all over the world, and to all those who have been supporting our event every year. We humbly ask for your understanding in light of this unusual circumstance which is beyond our control,” she said in a statement on the website of Miss International Organization.
The organization said that it will still push through with the 60th edition of the pageant in 2022.
