Maris Racal turned 24 on September 22 and over the weekend, the actress-singer gave her fans and followers a glimpse of how she celebrated her birthday amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Sunday, September 26, the "Asa Naman" singer revealed that she hosted an intimate birthday dinner for herself and her family at home, as she shared a series of pictures from the celebration on Instagram.
"this night was something else," she captioned her post.
She also shared her preparations for the party in her most recent entry on her YouTube channel.
In her vlog titled "she turned 24", Maris shared how she came up with the idea of hosting a French-inspired dinner party for her birthday.
"So, it's my birthday and wala akong nararamdaman. Dati 'di ba sobrang excited natin mag-birthday pero ngayon parang wala na lang. Normal ba 'to? Parang nagpa-panic ako kasi manhid na ba ako?" she said.
She went on: "Yeah, two days ago nag-panic ako kasi wala pala akong gagawin sa birthday ko. As in wala talaga akong gagawin kasi sobrang pre-occupied ako sa release ng 'Asa Naman', my latest single. So wala akong naiisip for my birthday. Sa day itself, wala akong gagawin. So two days ago, I called up Events by Miss P. ... I thought, what if mag-dinner na lang kami sa bahay but this time, iba na lang? Like gawing ibang lugar 'yung bahay ko, parang gawin siyang south of 'France'. And gusto ko 'yung food ko parang Italian cuisine. Kasi 'yun 'yung mga places na gusto kong puntahan."
She went on to share clips from the birthday dinner, which was attended only by her family and boyfriend Rico Blanco.
At one point, the former Rivermaya frontman can be seen handing Maris a bouquet of roses before the couple posed for a picture.

The couple has been dating since before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it was only in May, a few months after they were first romantically linked, that the two admitted their relationship to the public.
On Maris's birthday, Rico took to Instagram to share photos of the actress, including a rare snap of them cuddling, captioned, "happy birthday madam. love you so much po."
Meanwhile, Maris surprised her fans with pictures from a "wet and wild" photo shoot she did to mark her special day.
Taken by photographer to the stars BJ Pascual, the sexy pictorial sees Maris serving fierce looks while being splashed with buckets of water for a dramatic effect.
"para akong nabuhusan ng malamig na tubig," read Maris' playful caption on Instagram.
Maris, 24, first rose to fame in 2014 via ABS-CBN's reality show Pinoy Big Brother: All In. Since then, she has ventured into acting and making music.
Most recently, the actress-singer released a new single entitled "Asa Naman", under Balcony Entertainment. The song was co-written and produced by Rico. He also co-directed the music video alongside Maris.
In an Instagram Story update, Maris said her birthday wish this year is for fans to support her latest single, which is a follow-up to her hit song "Ate Sandali" that was released last June.
